Previewing an email or SMS
Before using a template, see exactly what the recipient will get: the variables ($candidate.firstName, $job.title…) are replaced by sample data, the email appears as in an inbox, and the SMS in a phone frame. The preview sends nothing and saves nothing.
Previewing an email
In the editor of an email template, the Mode selector switches between Write and Preview. The preview shows:
- The sample data: a single made-up person fills every variable (for example “Marie Tremblay · Warehouse clerk · interview on Nov. 4”). Link-type variables show an example link.
- The envelope: From, To and the subject (“(no subject)” if empty). The sender is the user who will send the email; when your account does not use employee addresses, the email leaves from the account’s default address.
- The preview language: FR or EN, to check each language version of the template.
- The width: Desktop (600 px) or Phone (375 px), to see how the email behaves on a small screen.
- The attachments of the chosen language.
- Variables without sample data: the ones the preview cannot fill are listed (“2 variables without sample data: …”) and marked in the text, so you can spot them before sending.
The email body is shown in an isolated frame on a white background, as it would appear at the recipient’s end.

Previewing an SMS
The editor of an SMS template has two columns: the text on the left, and on the right a preview in a phone frame. Below the preview, a counter gives, after the variables are replaced, the number of characters and SMS (“142 characters · 1 SMS”).
- Beyond 160 characters, the message is split into several billed SMS.
- Some characters (ê, â, ô, emoji…) lower the limit to 70 characters per SMS.
- An SMS is plain text: formatting is removed before sending.
