Google Tag Manager
The Google Tag Manager integration injects your GTM container into the public career portal. Once active, any tags you manage in Google Tag Manager — Google Analytics, conversion pixels, heat maps, or custom scripts — fire automatically on your career site pages without requiring code changes on the Nextal side.
What it does
- Loads the Google Tag Manager container on your public career portal pages.
- Enables any tag, trigger, or variable configured in your GTM workspace to run on the career portal (page views, application starts, application completions, and so on).
Prerequisites
- A Google Tag Manager account with a container set up for your career portal domain.
- Your GTM Container ID — it looks like
GTM-XXXXXXand is visible on the GTM dashboard.
How to activate
- Go to Administration → Integrations and find the Google Tag Manager card.
- Click Edit to open the configuration panel.
- Check Enable Google Tag Manager.
- Paste your Google Tag Manager Key (Container ID, e.g.
GTM-XXXXXX) into the field. - Click Save.
The container will load on the career portal on the next page request — no deployment needed.
Settings
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Enable Google Tag Manager | Toggle that controls whether the GTM container is injected into the career portal. |
| Google Tag Manager Key | Your GTM Container ID (format: GTM-XXXXXX). |
Tips
- Verify the container ID, not the workspace name. The ID starts with
GTM-and is found on the main containers list in your GTM account, not the workspace details. - Clear your browser cache after activating to see the container fire on the career portal right away.
- Use GTM Preview mode to test your tags before publishing them to production — GTM’s built-in debugger lets you confirm which tags fire on each career portal page.
- Removing the ID deactivates tracking immediately. Clearing the field and saving removes the container from all career portal pages.
