LinkedIn Easy Apply
Easy Apply is the LinkedIn button that lets a candidate apply without leaving LinkedIn, using their profile and resume. For an Easy Apply application to land in a tracking system like Nextal, LinkedIn goes through its Apply Connect program — LinkedIn’s counterpart to Indeed Apply.
Unlike Indeed Apply, Apply Connect cannot be switched on from Nextal. LinkedIn only opens it to software admitted to its partner program, and it only takes the request from a LinkedIn customer — that is, from you. This page explains what already works, what to ask LinkedIn for, and what happens next.
What already works, with no request
Nextal’s LinkedIn integration publishes your jobs to LinkedIn through a job feed. On each posting, the candidate sees an Apply on company website button that takes them to your career portal; their application is created in Nextal with the source LinkedIn.
If this is not set up yet, do it first — it is also a prerequisite for Apply Connect:
- Enter your LinkedIn Company ID in Administration → Integrations → LinkedIn.
- Send your feed address to LinkedIn.
The details are in LinkedIn. Source tracking is described in Application source tracking.
What Apply Connect would add
- The Easy Apply button on your LinkedIn postings, instead of the link to your career portal.
- Automatic creation of the application in Nextal, on the right job, with the candidate’s LinkedIn profile and resume.
- The same behavior as Indeed Apply once enabled: candidate created or matched, resume attached and parsed, automations applied.
Asking LinkedIn to enable it, step by step
Step 1 — Gather your information
- Your LinkedIn Company ID (the number in
linkedin.com/company/<id>/admin/), already saved in Nextal in the previous step. - Your LinkedIn contract type (Job Slots, LinkedIn Recruiter, etc.) and, if you know it, your account or contract number.
- The name of your LinkedIn representative (account manager or Customer Success), if one is assigned to your contract.
Step 2 — Fill in LinkedIn’s integration request form
LinkedIn keeps an official form for customers who want an integration with software that is not yet a partner:
Request an integration — LinkedIn Hiring Integrations
Fill it in with your contact details and, in the following fields:
| Form field | What to answer |
|---|---|
| Current ATS system | Nextal |
| Current CRM system | Your CRM, or None |
| Which integrations are you interested in? | Check Apply Connect. Also check Recruiter System Connect if you use LinkedIn Recruiter. |
Step 3 — Write to your LinkedIn representative
The form records your request; the message to your representative moves it forward. Copy the text below, replace the bracketed items and send it to your LinkedIn representative. If you do not have an assigned representative, use the Contact sales button on the form page.
Subject: Request to enable Apply Connect with our ATS (Nextal)
Hello [Representative name],
[Company name] (LinkedIn Company ID: [ID]) is a LinkedIn Talent Solutionscustomer under contract [Job Slots / Recruiter — contract or account numberif known].
We use Nextal (www.nextal.com) as our applicant tracking system and we wantto enable Apply Connect so candidates can apply to our LinkedIn job postingswith Easy Apply and have their applications delivered directly into Nextal. We would also like Nextal listed as an integration partner so that RecruiterSystem Connect becomes available to us.
Nextal is ready to complete the partner onboarding and technicalcertification; their contact is Mickael Dubois, mickael@nextal.com (in copy). We have also submitted the "Request an integration" form on the LinkedInHiring Integrations page.
Could you please initiate the partner integration request for Nextal on ourbehalf, or let us know the right team to escalate this to and what isrequired from us?
Thank you,[Name, title][Company name]Copy Nextal on your message (mickael@nextal.com) so we can answer LinkedIn as soon as they reach out.
Step 4 — Wait for LinkedIn
Once the request is in, LinkedIn drives the process:
- LinkedIn contacts Nextal about admission to the partner program.
- Nextal builds the technical integration (job push via API, application intake) and passes LinkedIn’s certification.
- LinkedIn moves your request to Partner Ready, then Enabled: Easy Apply appears on your postings.
Nextal lets you know when the integration becomes available. Until then, your jobs keep being published to LinkedIn with the Apply on company website button.
Frequently asked questions
- Can I add an “Apply with LinkedIn” button to my career portal? No. LinkedIn no longer offers an embeddable button for external sites; Easy Apply only exists on LinkedIn, for partner software.
- I see Easy Apply on other companies’ postings. Their recruiting software is a LinkedIn partner, or they created the posting directly in LinkedIn. A posting published from Nextal shows Apply on company website until Apply Connect is active.
- Am I losing anything in the meantime? No. Applications started from LinkedIn go through your career portal and land in Nextal with the source LinkedIn.
- Do I need to ask again if my LinkedIn representative changes? No. The request is tied to your LinkedIn company account, not to the person. A reminder to your new representative does not hurt, though.
