Contact emails
The full email history with one contact, plus a composer for new messages. Sort, filter sent vs. received, and pick a saved template to fill in subject and body.
The Emails tab on a contact profile gathers every email Nextal knows about — both messages you’ve sent and any replies that came back. Threads are listed on the left; the selected one opens on the right.
The layout
Three things across the top of the tab:
- A New email button to compose a fresh message.
- A filter with two checkboxes: Show sent and Show received. Untick either to hide that direction.
- A sort control — newest first or oldest first.
Below the controls, the tab is split into two columns:
- Left — the list of email threads. One row per message, showing the date, the subject, and a short preview of the body.
- Right — the full body of the selected message, including sender, recipient, date and any attachments.
When the tab opens, the most recent email is automatically selected.
Composing a new email
Click New email at the top of the tab. A compose panel opens, pre-filled with the contact’s email address in the To field.

Pick a template (optional)
If your team has saved email templates, you can pick one from the dropdown. The subject and body are filled in automatically. Merge tags like the contact’s first name are replaced when you send.

Edit subject and body
Both are rich-text editors — you can format text, add links, paste in images, and so on. Templates put you on the same page as a blank email after you pick one; you can still adjust before sending.

Attach files (optional)
Drag in files from your computer, or pick from the contact’s Files tab.

Send
The email goes out through your configured email integration and appears in the thread list immediately.
Reading and replying
Click any thread on the left to open it on the right. The viewer shows:
- Subject, date, sender and recipient at the top
- The full message body, rendered with formatting and inline images
- Any attachments — click to download
Replies are picked up automatically when your email integration is connected — they appear in the thread without you having to refresh.

Tips
- Save your favourite phrasings as templates. Your admin manages templates under Settings → Templates. Recurring messages (intro, follow-up, NDA cover note) become one-click sends.
- Filter to sent-only when reviewing your own outreach. The Show received checkbox can be untoggled to focus on what you wrote.
- Use the contact’s preferred language. If a template exists in both French and English, pick the one matching the contact’s communication preferences (visible on the profile overview).
