Change the theme

Show Nextal in light, in dark, or let it follow your computer’s or phone’s setting with System. You change the theme from the moon / sun icon in the top bar, or from the switch in the top-right corner of the login page, even before you sign in.

Where to find it
Top bar → the moon / sun icon (top-right, near the language flag)
Login page → the Light / System / Dark switch (top-right corner of the page)
Who can use it
Everyone — even before signing in

The three choices

  • Light — a light background, all the time.
  • Dark — a dark background, all the time.
  • System — the default. Nextal follows the light or dark setting of your computer or phone. If that setting changes while Nextal is open (for example, an automatic switch to dark mode in the evening), the display follows right away, without reloading the page.

How to change the theme in the app

  1. Click the moon / sun icon in the top bar

It’s in the top-right corner, near the language flag, just before your profile menu. The icon shows the theme currently displayed: a moon when the display is dark, a sun when it’s light.

  2. Pick a theme

A short menu opens with Light, Dark and System. A check mark ✓ shows your current choice. Click the one you want.

  3. The display changes immediately

No need to reload the page: the interface switches to the new theme right away, and your choice is remembered.

How to change the theme from the login page

  1. Find the switch in the top-right corner of the page

On the login page, a small three-button switch sits in the top-right corner of the page, outside the sign-in form: Light, System and Dark. The highlighted button is your current choice. The same switch appears on the password recovery page and on the lock screen.

  2. Click the theme you want

The page changes right away. On a phone, only the sun, screen and moon icons are shown; tap the one you want.

  3. Sign in

The theme you picked carries over once you’re signed in: the app opens with it straight away.

Tips

  • Clearing cookies resets the theme to System. If you clear the cache and also clear your browser’s cookies, Nextal goes back to System. Just pick your theme again.
  • One shared computer, one theme. Because the choice belongs to the browser, everyone who uses the same browser on the same computer shares the same theme.
  • System is often the most convenient. If your computer switches to dark mode automatically in the evening, Nextal follows without you having to think about it.
