Nextal AI
Nextal AI is the opt-in add-on that analyzes your candidates for you. When enabled, it scores and ranks applicants against each job, writes an AI summary on every candidate profile, and parses uploaded resumes with the AI engine. A single toggle at the organization level turns all three on or off — no additional credentials or external accounts are required.
What it does
When the Nextal AI integration is active:
- Candidate scoring — applicants are automatically scored and ranked against each job based on configurable weights (education, job titles, skills, languages, and more). Scores appear on the kanban cards, and the scoring weights become editable on jobs and job templates.
- AI candidate summary — an AI Summary card is generated automatically on candidate profiles and on the application detail in the kanban, giving recruiters a quick read of the candidate’s background.
- Resume parsing — resumes uploaded to candidate profiles are parsed by the AI engine to extract structured data automatically.
Prerequisites
- No external account or API key is required. Nextal AI is a built-in feature managed entirely within the platform.
- Access to this toggle requires administrator-level integrations access.
How to activate
- Go to Administration → Integrations and find the Nextal AI card.
- Click Edit to open the configuration panel.
- Toggle Activate on.
- Click Save.
Once saved, applicants start being scored, the AI Summary card appears on candidate profiles, and AI parsing takes over for newly uploaded resumes. No further configuration is needed.

Tips
- The three add-on features come as one. Turning on Nextal AI enables candidate scoring, AI summaries and AI parsing together — there is no per-feature toggle. If you want to pilot a subset, communicate that to recruiters through onboarding rather than configuration.
- AI scoring requires scoring weights to be set. For candidates to be scored accurately, the AI scoring weights on each job template should be reviewed and adjusted to reflect your hiring priorities.
- Disabling AI is reversible. If you turn the integration off, all previously generated content (summaries, parsed data) is preserved — only the AI controls are hidden.
- AI parsing and the Nextal built-in parser are mutually exclusive. When Nextal AI is active it handles resume parsing; when disabled, the standard Nextal parser is used instead.
