Send candidate survey
Send a survey link to one or more candidates — pick the survey, review the prefilled email, send. Each candidate gets a unique link tied to their own response.
Send a survey link to the candidate — they fill it out at their own pace. The sidebar picks the survey, prefills an email from the survey email template, lets you tweak subject and content, and sends it on save.
When to use this
Surveys are good for structured info-gathering — anything that fits a form better than free conversation:
- Pre-interview screening questions (work authorization, target salary, availability).
- Post-interview feedback from the candidate.
- Skill self-assessments.
- Reference / consent collection.
How to open it
- Find the candidate on the kanban.
- Open the applicant menu (or check several cards for bulk send).
- Pick Send survey. The sidebar slides in from the right.
What you fill in
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Candidate(s) | Read-only badges — the recipients. Multi-select is supported. |
| Survey | Dropdown of candidate surveys configured at your organization. The first one is pre-selected when you open the sidebar. |
| Subject | Email subject — prefilled from the system “survey” email template; editable. |
| Content | Email body — prefilled from the same template; editable. |
What happens when you click Send
For each candidate, the system creates a survey response shelf (a placeholder for their answers) and sends the email containing a unique link to the survey. The candidate clicks the link, fills the form, submits — and you see the responses on their profile.
One link per candidate; links are personal and tied to that one survey response.
Who can do what
| What you want to do | What you need |

| Create or edit surveys | Administrator on the surveys page |
Tips
- Keep surveys short. Completion rates drop fast past 10 questions; 5 questions is the sweet spot for pre-screening.
- Reuse surveys across jobs. A “work authorization + salary range” pre-screen survey covers most roles.
- Bulk send = one personal link per candidate. Don’t share a single link manually — that wouldn’t track per-candidate.
- If you can’t wait for the candidate, see Fill candidate survey on behalf for filling it out yourself during a phone screen.
