Office 365
The Office 365 integration lets every user in your organization connect their Microsoft 365 mailbox and calendar to Nextal. Once active, recruiters can send emails to candidates directly from Nextal (the message goes out from their own Outlook address), and they can create and manage interview calendar events without leaving the platform.
What it does
- Allows users to link their personal Microsoft 365 mailbox for sending and logging emails to candidates and employees.
- Allows users to connect their Microsoft calendar for scheduling interviews and managing availability.
- Controls which users in the organization can authorize the integration (all users or a specific subset).
Prerequisites
- A Microsoft 365 tenant (work or school account).
- An administrator of your Microsoft Azure Active Directory tenant who can grant tenant-wide admin consent for the Nextal application.
- The Nextal administrator must have the consent link ready to share with IT.
How to activate
- Go to Administration → Integrations and find the Office 365 card.
- Click Edit to open the configuration panel.
- If the integration is not yet active, a consent link is displayed. Copy the link and send it to your Microsoft Azure administrator (or click it directly if you have admin rights in Azure). The administrator must approve the Nextal application for your tenant.
- Once consent has been granted in Azure, return to this panel — the integration will show as active.
- Under User Access Configuration, choose whether the integration applies to All Users (recommended) or only to Specific Users. If you choose Specific Users, select the relevant accounts from the list.
- Click Save.
Settings
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Enable Office 365 | Master switch. Uncheck to deactivate the integration for the entire organization. |
| User Access Configuration | Choose All Users (every user in the organization can connect) or Specific Users (only the selected accounts can connect). |
| Specific Users list | Visible when “Specific Users” is selected. Pick the user accounts that are permitted to use the integration. Remember to update this list whenever new users join. |
Tips
- Share the consent link with IT, not end users. The Azure admin consent step requires elevated permissions in Microsoft’s tenant — a regular user clicking the link will be blocked.
- Use “All Users” unless you have a compliance reason not to. The specific-user restriction adds ongoing maintenance overhead: any new recruiter you onboard will need to be added here before they can connect their calendar.
- Deactivating here disconnects everyone immediately. If you need to offboard a single user instead, do it from their user profile rather than toggling the whole integration off.
