Noota
Noota is an AI-powered meeting recorder and transcription service. When the Noota integration is active in Nextal, interviews can be automatically recorded and transcribed, giving recruiters a searchable record of what was discussed and AI-generated insights to support candidate evaluation.
What it does
- Automatically records interviews (with optional auto-start) when the integration is active.
- Transcribes recordings and surfaces AI-generated insights within the ATS.
- Notifies Nextal when a recording is ready via a webhook URL.
- Lets you control video, chat, and screen share capture independently.
- Configures how long recordings are retained before deletion.
Prerequisites
- A Noota account with API access.
- Your Noota API Key — available in your Noota account settings.
- A Webhook URL where Noota will send recording-ready notifications (typically a Nextal-provided endpoint — contact your Nextal administrator if you are unsure what URL to use).
How to activate
- Go to Administration → Integrations and find the Noota.io card.
- Click Edit to open the configuration panel.
- Toggle Activate on.
- Enter your Noota API Key.
- Enter the Noota Webhook URL.
- Set the Retention Period (in days) for how long recordings are kept before automatic deletion.
- Under Recording Settings, configure:
- Auto Record — start recording automatically when an interview begins.
- Consent Required — prompt participants to consent before recording starts.
- Enable Video — include the video stream in recordings.
- Enable Chat — capture in-meeting chat messages.
- Enable Screen Share — include screen share content in recordings.
- Click Save.
Settings

|---|---|
| Activate | Master toggle for the Noota integration. |

| Retention Period | Number of days recordings are stored in Noota before automatic deletion. Default is 365 days. |
| Auto Record | When enabled, recording starts automatically at the beginning of each interview. |
| Consent Required | When enabled, participants are asked to consent before recording begins. Recommended for compliance in jurisdictions that require two-party consent. |

Tips
- Always enable Consent Required in consent-sensitive jurisdictions. Recording laws vary — many Canadian provinces and U.S. states require all parties to consent. When in doubt, enable this setting.
- Set a retention period that aligns with your HR data policy. Recordings often contain sensitive personal information; keeping them indefinitely creates unnecessary risk.
- Test with an internal interview first. Schedule a test call between two internal users before using the integration with actual candidates to verify the API key, webhook delivery, and recording quality.
- Disabling the integration stops new recordings but does not delete existing ones. Previously recorded transcripts remain in Noota until your retention period expires.
