Transfer candidate (forward to client contact)

Forward a candidate’s profile and selected files to one or more contacts at the job’s client — a two-step sidebar with file picking. NOTE: despite the name, this does not move the candidate to a different job.

Where to find it
Kanban → applicant menu → Transfer
Who can use it
Anyone with edit access to candidates and read access to client contacts.

Important — what this actually does. Despite the “Transfer” label on the button, this action forwards a candidate to one or more contacts at the job’s client (typically the hiring manager or HR contact at the client company). It does not move the candidate to a different job inside Nextal. Use Add candidate to job when you want to add the candidate to a different opening.

Step 1 — pick contacts at the client and write a note.

When to use this

Use it when:

  • You’re a recruiter/agency and want to send a candidate dossier to the client’s hiring manager for review.
  • Internal hiring managers need to see specific candidate files before approving an interview.
  • You want to share selected candidate documents (resume, work samples, signed forms) externally with a contact on file.

How to open it

  1. Find the candidate on the kanban.
  2. Open the applicant menu on the card.
  3. Pick Transfer. The sidebar slides in from the right. (Multi-select is also supported via the bulk action.)

Field

What it does

Candidate

Read-only badge(s) — the candidate(s) you’re forwarding.

Contacts

Multi-select pre-populated from the contacts at the job’s client. The “main” contact (if marked) is pre-selected. If the client has only one contact, it’s automatically picked.

Note

Free-text context that goes along with the forward — why you think this candidate is a good fit, what to focus on, what stage they’re at.

Step 2 — pick files to include

Step 2 — pick which of the candidate’s files to attach.

After clicking Send on step 1, a second sidebar opens showing the candidate’s files. Each file has a checkbox; pick the ones to include in the forward. The right side shows a preview of the file you click. You can preview resumes, BoldSign documents, and other supported types directly.

If you forwarded several candidates at once, a candidate-picker at the top lets you switch which candidate’s files you’re curating — each candidate gets their own file selection.

What happens when you click Send (step 2)

For each (candidate × contact) pair, an email is sent to the contact containing:

  • The candidate’s name and key info.
  • Your note.
  • Links to the files you selected for that candidate.
  • A job reference so the contact can reply in context.

The forward is logged on the candidate’s timeline and on the contact’s record.

Tips

  • The contact sees what you send. Pick files thoughtfully — including a draft offer or internal notes by accident is awkward.
  • Always add a note. The recipient might be reading your forward cold; a one-line context dramatically increases the chance of a useful reply.
  • To set a “main” contact, edit the client’s contact list. The main contact gets pre-selected here, saving a click.
  • This is the wrong action for moving between jobs. Use Add candidate to job for that.
